"As a father of seven and a volunteer at Safe Harbor, I understand that we need leaders who can bring people together to solve complex problems with both compassion and practical solutions. I am running as a candidate who understands both the compassion for our neighbors in hard times as well as a family man who wants to promote safe neighborhoods for all families to grow up in."

Peter's Vision for Traverse City
Pillar 1: Neighborhood Safety & Compassion
Data-Driven Transparency
- Publish quarterly homelessness data on city website
- Include Point-in-Time counts, service utilization, and housing placement rates
- Create accessible dashboards showing trends and outcomes
- Establish clear metrics for measuring progress
Fair Share Regional Partnership
- Maintain current Safe Harbor operations without city-funded expansion
- Require neighboring municipalities to contribute proportionally
- Redirect resources toward proven prevention programs
- Focus on regional coordination over single-city solutions
Comprehensive Community Safety
- Transparent accountability for all service providers
- Regular community reporting on outcomes and challenges
- Enhanced public health protocols and safety measures
- Compassionate but firm responses to illegal activity
"We need facts, not fear-based decisions. By making homelessness data publicly available every quarter, we can move beyond arguing about the scope of the problem and focus on measuring what actually works."
Pillar 2: Smart Growth
- Thoughtful development planning that preserves neighborhood identity
- Balance growth with community values and resident input
- Support local business development and entrepreneurship
- Encourage Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) for housing solutions
- Implement design standards that maintain Traverse City's appeal
Pillar 3: Parks & Recreation
